So I am quite behind on our blog...funny how that happens!  We went to Disney on Ice earlier this month and Maddie LOVED it.  Matt got her excited about Toy Story by showing her the characters on the computer and telling her all about it.  By the time we went, she knew all about Buzz Lightyear and Woody.  She was memorized the entire show.  She sat on Matt's lap and was dancing during each song.  She couldn't get enough and asked last weekend if we could go again.
Maddie was joined by her buddy Aubriana.  This was after the show - they were running around and loved the long hallways in the United Center!

Sleeping Cuties

Dane has been sleeping in his crib for a while now.  Such a sweet sight!
Maddie always says "Lay with me!"  Daddy sometimes gives in!
Mads loves her pink bunny (original name - pink hop hop).  She helps Maddie sleep in the car and at the sitters house too.

Rice Cereal!

Dane likes it!  He took the rice cereal like a champ!  He got lessons from Maddie and it ended up on the floor - go figure!!!   (Madeline poured 1/2 a box of Cheerios on the floor just minuets before this picture was taken.)

Unfortunately, it still hasn't made him sleep through the night!  We keep thinking that maybe tonight will be the night!!!  He is back to feeding at 11:00 (sometimes), 2:00 and 5:00ish.  We aren't quite ready to let him cry it just yet. Fortunately, he feeds and is ready to go right back down.

Superbowl!!!

We had a little get together to watch the game...although the guys were the only ones who watched it!  We were entertained with our little ones!

The girls were all about the football ice cream cake.  It was yummy!
All 3 girls tag teamed Matt.  It was hilarious!  Note Maddie up on his feet, Claire on his upper body, and Aubriana with her hand on her face.  He lost it, but had to focus to keep Mads safe!  Yes...his entire body was shaking! :)
Gettin down to the peas! (Maddie's fave for a while now!)

Snow Much Snow!!!

Yes -the weather man was right.  We got dumped on!  On Tuesday, the snow started falling around 1:00.  By the time I left school at 3:00, it was falling fast and furious.  The roads were bad, visibility was terrible, and it took me 5 times as long to get home.  Thankfully the kids were in Park Ridge, so I was able to take a direct route home.  That night there was thunder snow and it was wild.  The winds were blowing hard too and the lights flickered a couple of times.  Thankfully we kept our power, as that could have made for a real interesting story.
Wednesday morning we woke up to find a ton of snow!  A little bit more came down in the morning, but then it was over.  All of the neighbors headed outside and the clean up began.  It took Matt 5 HOURS to shovel (yes, shovel) part of our driveway and all of the walkways.  So, we didn't see too much of him yesterday, poor guy!  Maddie played outside for a little and LOVED it!  The neighbors had tunnels all over the backyard and she had so much fun playing with them.  I cut it short because it was cold and I didn't want frost bite to set in!  We warmed up with some hot chocolate, and not a surprise, she loved it.  Dane went out for a picture, but then we got him inside pretty quick.  Later that evening, I found out school was cancelled for Thursday.  Another day home with my kiddos! :)
Today is Thursday and the temps are around 0 right now.  I did take Dane to the doctor, which is only 3 min. away.  The roads were not terrible, but not great (espeically in Matt's car with rear wheel drive).  I can't remember ever seeing this much snow.

4 Months Old

Dane is 4 months old already!  It's hard to believe.  He is such a good baby and he is very mild mannered.  He was tongue tied at birth, but the doctors acted like it was no big deal.  After talking with Aunt Kristin and Uncle Joe (Addison and Ava were both tongue tied), we decided we wanted to get his tongue clipped.  Why risk possible speech problems later on?  We are so glad that we had it done.  It was a quick procedure and Dane didn't seem too bothered by it at all.  We have noticed him playing with his tongue a bunch now!  He is also quieter when he eats.  He is not waking up as much at night.  He goes down between 7:00 and 7:30 and wakes up around 2:00.  Then he will wake up again between 4:00 and 6:00.  We are going to introduce rice cereal with a spoon tonight!  Dane's favorite thing to do is go cheek to cheek.  He just loves it!

My two kiddos are very similar in growth.  The percentages seem a little off, but I just wrote what the nurses had on the sheet.  Odd that Dane is 1/4" shorter, but in the 50-75%, while Maddie was in the 95th%!  Close enough!

Dane's 4 Month Stats:

Weight - 13lbs 13 oz. (50%)

Length - 24 3/4" (50-75%)

Head - 41cm (25%)

Maddie's 4 Month Stats:

Weight - 13lbs 8 oz. (50%)

Length - 25" (95%)

Head - 40 cm (25%)

Mimi's Recipe

Thanks to Mimi (Matt's Grandma Latham) for sharing recipes with him.  It inspired him to get busy in the kitchen!  The chicken and dumplings were delish!  Mimi - keep the recipes coming!  :)

Maddie acted as kitchen assistant, probably so she could have "samples!"  She LOVED the dinner and ate so much!
