Christmas Eve

I have always loved Christmas Eve, and this year was no different.  We went to the early service at the church I grew up going to.  Maddie went up for the Children's sermon and stayed up there by herself - such a big girl!  We then went to Grammie and Papo's for a yummy dinner and all kinds of desserts!  The kids were so good and so fun.  We didn't open any presents and there were no protests! :)

Maddie and I both wore our cross necklaces.  Maddie kind of spilled the beans about my gift a couple of hours before giving it to me!
Maddie loves grammie's little santa guy.  She was talking to him and taking him everywhere with her.  Dane kept saying, "Ho, ho, ho" to him!
Maddie left out milk and a cookie for Santa.  She was really excited about it!
Maddie had to say goodbye to Sheaso  (yes, that is what she named him) on Christmas Eve.  She was a bit sad about his departure.
She blew him a kiss, bring careful not to touch him.  She has still been checking to make sure he didn't decide to come back.  Kinda makes me feel bad!!

Santa!!!

We took the kiddos to see Santa on the Friday before Christmas.  We usually go on Christmas Eve and never have to wait, but this year it was quite different.  Fortuntately for us, Grandpa Welke waited in line while the rest of us scrambled to finish up our Christmas shopping!  Maddie was great and not at all afraid.  She sat on his lap and talked to him some more after Dane was rescused.   Dane was NOT happy until has was off of Santa's lap!!!

B-day Gpa's!

Two very special people have birthdays that are super close to Christmas!  We all had a very nice birthday lunch at Bob Chinn's.  We went to Grammie and Papo's afterwards for delicious cake.

Maddie and Claire drank up some Guava juice.  Maddie liked it and Claire didn't!

Maddie and Claire enjoyed their picnic style dessert!
Allie is certainly pretty in pink!
Maddie had fun making brownie balls for Grandpa's birthday.  We enjoyed spending the afternoon and evening with the birthday boy!

Dinner with Rapunzel

Maddie and Claire were so cute at the dinner with Rapunzel.  They had a great time and it was so cute to see all of the little girls being so into it!

Church Play

Big Madeline and little Madeline worked together as angels in the church play.  Maddie was very excited about it!

Dane's 1st Dentist Appointment

Maddie did a good job, but didn't like the flavor of the toothpaste.  Dane was SO good.  They said he was the best baby ever! The hygenist kept saying, "He loves this!"  Dane is cutting a lot of his molars, which has made him wake up a couple of times during the night.  Maddie has all of her teeth and they look nice, clean and healthy! :)
 Such a big girl!

December Fun

`What a fun month it has been!  We have done so many fun things with the kids.  The holidays really are so special with them and we are enjoying every minute of it!

Maddie wrote a letter to Santa and dropped it off in his special mail box.
Daddy, Maddie and Dane water the Christmas tree (Jingo) every morning together.
The kids love the manger sets and Dane "Moo's" when every time he sees one!
The kids went to story hour with Mrs. Claus at Yorktown Mall.
This picture makes me laugh!  The orange drink from McD's reminded me of my own childhood!  Just like I remembered it!
Dane likes to hang with the big girls!
Maddie likes egg nog...
Dane likes to climb onto the stool in the kitchen and see how he can help.  Maddie and I made some chocolate covered pretzels and she got sprinkles everywhere!  We were letting them harden and Dane wanted part of the action.  He was saying "CHOCOLATE" which I thought was hysterical.  When I taped it the first time, he changed his story.  I got the real deal on the second shoot!

Dancing Maddie

Madeline continues to enjoy her dance class.  On the last day of class, the parents come in and watch a mini performance.  Each of the girls picks something that they want to share.  Maddie picked freeze dancing to Snow White.  When Miss Carol put on a Cinderella song, Maddie looked sad and Miss Carol asked what was wrong.  "This isn't Snow!!" was Maddie's response.  She had to tell Miss Carol when she reached a Snow song on her Disney Princess CD.

Animal Noises

This video was from a couple of weeks ago.  He is really good these days!  Our favorite is cock a doodle doo!!!

Our 3 Year Old Girl!!

Maddie LOVED her birthday this year.  She took part in planning her party and her birthday day.  Surprise, surpise...she wanted a princess party.  She LOVES dressing up, so it was only appropriate that her friends arrived in costumes.  It was fun celebrating with the birthday girl!
So excited that she almost forgot to breathe!
I ordered Maddie a marble (chocolate and vanilla swirled) cake.  When I told Maddie, she told me that she wanted chocolate only.  I had to laugh. She is her mama's girl!  So, we called and changed our order.  It was delish!
Dane had a good time at Maddie's party too!

Holding up the adorable and yummy cookies sent by Aunt Kristin!  Thanks!!! XOXO!!!
Grandma and grandpa had a front row seat for present opening!
We put up our Christmas tree after all of Maddie's party guests left.
Maddie loves showing people that she is 3!  When someone asks, she shows them with her fingers instead of answering.

3 Year Stats:

Weight - 29 1/2 (25-50%)
Length - 3' 1 1/4" (37 1/4") (50%)

A bit about our girl:

Madeline cracks us up all of the time with the things that she says and does.  She loves dressing up, playing with her "friends," and by that, I mean her stuffed animals and dolls that are her favorites.  Maddie and Dane are buddies and he adores his big sister.  Maddie teaches Dane new things and is often teaching him to say certain words.  She also adores her cousins and real friends as well.  She still loves, loves, loves to read and loves her books.  She is into Disney and knows all the princesses and a bit about each of them.  She is extremely curious and is always asking for more information.  She also pays very close attention to detail, something that she clearly gets from her daddy.  She gets frustrated when she feels like she can't do something and does NOT like when clothes or shoes feel too tight.  She has a hard time sitting still (hello...wonder where she gets that from....) and wants to go, go, go.  She is a bit challenging when it comes to napping - she always says that she isn't tired.  She loves her books before she goes to bed and always asks if we will lay with her at night.  She then asks, "Can I hold your hand?"  When she wakes up, she runs into our bedroom and lays with daddy (but only if it's after 7am). She likes to go shopping and loves helping out in the kitchen - especially when she gets "samples".  She is getting really good at recognizing letters and likes to sing and dance.  She knows how to push our buttons and does her best to get away with things. For example, she isn't allowed to "potty talk."  So, Maddie will say koo koo and tee tee and things like that.  We will set a rule and she will find a way not to break it, but come darn close.  She has been going to school one day a week and will start with me in February.  We love her so, so, so very much.  She is our little sweetie pie.

Our 2nd Thanksgiving as a family of four, but our 1st in Kokomo!
 Busy, Busy grandparents these days!
Dane chowed down....not a big surprise!  He is an eater!
Someone got busted eating the marshmallows off of the sweet potatoes!
The girlies love each other and the babies bonded too!
Maddie's turkey picture that she did all by herself.

We had a great visit and loved spending time with our wonderful family members! :)  Maddie said she was thankful for dolls, people and toys.  She said Dane was thankful for balls, people and toys.  Grandma cooked up a storm and our feast was delicious.  We are so thankful for our faith, family, friends, good health and many blessings.
