Emmie 8 Months

Emmie girl is a sweet little 8 month old!  At 8 months, she is crawling, but isn't getting into everything quite yet.  She likes to stay on the rug and off the hard wood floor, which works in our favor! :)  She is still very much a mama's girl and is always happy just to be along for the ride.  People tell me she is small for her age.  She is wearing 6 month clothing, which fits about perfect.  Her two front teeth are coming in more, but no other teeth are showing signs of coming it quite yet.  Her appetite has increased and she enjoys trying to feed herself. She has been signing "more" and she does what we call her cheerleader move when doing "SO BIG!"  She is fun and is getting more attention, which Dane struggled with a bit this month.  Maddie seems to really enjoy her little play mate.  Emerson can entertain herself playing with toys for a while.  It is so cute to see her play on her own and we all wonder what she is thinking.  She is just a little joy!

5 1/2 Years Old

Maddie loves giving away free lemonade at her lemonade stand.  In addition, she gave away free lemon cookies.  Many neighbors and even some older boys came by and Maddie wasn't phased.  She had a lot of customers and she had a blast!
Maddie being a helper girl :)
Maddie celebrates her half b-day with a blue ice cream cone.  She was talking up her 1/2 birthday days ahead of time.  She was very excited!!
My Maddie girl is so super these days and I love having a little helper.  She adores her younger sibs and is definitely a little mommy to them.  She is also the first to help out when younger kids come over and she can entertain them all quite well.  She is a girly girl who loves to wear dresses and loves dressing up her AG dolls.  Maddie's NEW favorite color is blue and she likes to use it when making arts and crafts.  Maddie loves making new creations and has gotten quite good at drawing.  She has been taking piano lessons, doing dance, gymnastics, choir and a super sports class in addition to preschool.  Fortunately she enjoys all sorts of activities and her once shy side seems long gone.  She will now strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone.  She enjoys working in her kindergarten book as she loved the idea of homework over summertime.  In her own words, "This is cake!"  Maddie still loves putting on shows - dancing, magic, playing the keyboard - you name it.  She can have a dramatic and quite funny side.  She is still a bit messy - I am worried that this trait will be something that sticks around for a long time - eek!

She is definitely growing up, but has such a sweet innocence to her.  We are very proud of the sweet and caring girl she has become!!

California - Late May

We had such a great time visiting our family in California.  In addition to celebrating with Mimi, we also got to celebrate Kassie's graduation from High School.  We are proud of her accomplishments and she had a really awesome party!  The kids enjoyed the dance party and the (non-alcoholic) margarita machines.

Maddie and Aunt Tami getting down!
Emmie took a nap on the birthday girl!
Grandpa rocking the kids at night.
 Memorial Day at BOOMERS!
Dane got to go in a go-cart with daddy.  He thought it was so cool!  It was quite adorable...my camera ran out of batteries at that point. :(
 Climbing girls!

Our day at DISNEY!!  I was so excited to get to go to Disney on an "off-time."  We usually go during Spring Break when it's quite crowded.  Unfortunately, this was the most crowded time yet.  Oh well!  We still had a great time and there is just something special about a day at Disney.
 Parade time!

 A princess hug!  Just because...
The kids love watching an old video of them yelling to the Disney characters.  They couldn't wait to do it once again.  They got PLENTY of waves from the characters as the kids were noticed, no doubt! :)

90th Birthday Celebration

What can we say about his special woman?  It is hard to find the words to explain how amazing she is!  Matt had the honor of toasting his lovely grandmother at her dinner celebration at the Mission Inn in Riverside.

She even got serenaded!  She had quite the day of surprises!  One after the next and I am sure she was exhausted by the end of the day!  We love our Mimi so very much!!!!
