A tired girl snuggles with daddy and listens to music during landing!
It took Mads a while to fall asleep on the flight home, but eventually she did! We were lucky to again have the entire row.
We went on a sunset dinner cruise on our last night and had a blast. The coolest part was seeing the hundreds of manta rays around the boat. Sometimes they would do belly flops and other times they would flip - it was so cool! They put on a show that lasted for about 30 min. Both Matt's were going nuts! The captain said this was not something they see often, so we got really lucky.
I think that Matt was the only person on the boat that filled up his plate three times!!!
The famous Cabo arch
Pam (Matt Newton's mom) and Dennis came in Friday to watch the girls so that the 4 of us could have a night out together. Here is our picture taken from the boat of the resort we stayed at (L'Estancia). A HUGE thank you to Dennis and Pam for sharing their Cabo home with us. It was so beautiful and so nice of them!!!
Here is my 32 week prego belly! It was a conversation piece for all of the workers who tried to get us to eat at their restaurant and take their tours!!! My pregnancy was has never been as acknowledged as much as it was in Cabo!!!
So I tried a photo shoot without too much success, but did get a couple of sweet moments captured.
Madeline was not all about the camera this trip!
This was the "backyard" of the resort! As you can tell, it was a beautiful beach and we had a great view from the 5th floor balcony!

The girls enjoyed the view too!!!

These girls love each other!

Daddy was loving this!!!

Maddie and Daddy had some serious bonding time on this trip!

We decided to take a water taxi out to Lover's Beach (it's the only way to get there). We did not realize that we were in for quite an adventure!!! It was a little bit scary getting into the boat and it was a bit of a rough ride. Fortunately, Maddie was great and seemed to like it. I tried to relax and enjoy it with a tight grip on Mads!!! The driver was great and gave us a good tour. Madeline loved seeing the sea lions and kept asking for "more"! Once we got back to shore, Maddie got into Matt's arms and didn't let go. It was so sweet!

Matt and I went to The Office on our date night dinner. Matt and Laura watched Maddie and we returned the favor the next night!
Uncle Matt taught Madeline how to relax on the balcony.
I think Maddie knows that it's bedtime for her and for daddy! Matt was "getting Maddie ready for bed" and this is what I came to find!
Relaxin on the balcony! We spent a lot of time on it reading and chillin! Maddie started out the week clinging to Matt. Two days later she wanted to go on her own! She loved it! We would wake up, eat breakfast and go to the pool. Then we'd eat lunch (which Laura usually had ready to go for us- thanks L!), Maddie would nap while I read on the balcony and then we would hit the pool again after she woke up. After a couple of hours at the pool we would get ready for dinner and head out! It was so nice and totally relaxing...it really felt like vacation!!!
The dads and their girlies! This is the marina in the dowtown area. We went downtown all but 2 nights that we were there. It was really fun to walk around and there was always a lot going on! Matt spent a lot of time with Maddie in the pool. I think that they got to know everyone staying at the resort! One day a group of older ladies told me that Matt was such a good dad and that Maddie and I were lucky - I agree!! :)

Mads was a bit afraid of the ocean. Good thing the pool was amazing! A large section of the pool was what we called the "ledge" and Maddie loved it. It was only about 1 foot, so it was the perfect place to play with toys and hang out.
Crossing the bridge to go to the pool while sporting the pig tails.
Maddie and Claire loved playing with the morrocas!
Our first night in Cabo! We went downtown and ate at this super cute, authentic mexican restaurant, Mi Casa. They had live music, the colors were vibrant and there was a lot to keep the girls entertained. Both girls were amazing the entire trip!!!

Maddie loves trying on our shoes!
The flight on the way to Cabo. Our power went out while we were getting ready. It made for a hectic, crazy morning, but it all worked out in the end!!!
The flight attendant worked things out so that we got our own row! We had a little bit of a surprise when we got to the airport...there is a charge for lap children on international flights. Having our own row made up for that a little bit!
Laura told us about her favorite dog in Cabo, Bully, and took us to meet him. Maddie loved him too!

Maddie's Hair is Getting LONG!

Grammie and Papo's house!
Maddie's pigtails! I tried higher pig tails and they don't really work so well!

And we don't see a haircut in the near future! We don't want her curls to go away!

Keeping Busy!

We hit up Wagner's Farm and had a great time! It was fun seeing Madeline, Gavin and McKenna interact! Milking the cow
Gavin and Mads loved the tractor!

They also loved the typewriter!
Someone has been eating a lot of ice cream cones this summer! ;)

What a great hiding spot Maddie!
Having fun at the Kohl's Children's Museum with Claire
Maddie loved the kid grocery store. She ended up with a lot of canned fruit in her cart!
Just her size!

We headed to St. Louis to see grandma and grandpa before baby #2 comes. It was great seeing them! We took one car to get down there and Papo drove the entire way there and back. Jill was scrunced in the back corner of the van - what a trooper!!!
Great Grandpa and Madeline
Playing cards and eating corn - a downstate tradition!
Madeline is not so sure about Fluffy! He wanted to play with the girls and he seemed to really like them!
Playing in Claire's pool! Gotta love the rings on their heads!

Sending Our Love to California

We love you Cesta Family! Extra hugs to Aunt Kristin on her Birthday and because she could really use them right now.

I didn't even realize that she said "Happy Daddy Day" instead of "Happy Birthday" until I watched it back. What a goofy girl!

30 Weeks

I feel like I have gotten so much bigger the past couple of days. As Matt said, "I don't remember you being this big at this time with Madeline." And looking back at pictures, I wasn't! Here is the belly shot, but it seriously looks bigger in person!

19 Month Stats

We had Maddie's 18 month appt. last week (yes, a month late - whoops)! Here is where she is at:

Weight - 21 lbs 9oz. (5-10%)
Length - 32 1/2" (50-75%)

The days leading up the appointment, Madeline wasn't eating all that much, so I am sure she is up from that point. As the doctor said, "She is just like her daddy!" By looking at Madeline, most people think she is very tall for her age, but she isn't as tall as we would have thought. Everyone thinks Madeline is older thanks to her hair! :) She is also quite the talker, but is quiet when she is around new people.

Her Favorite Lines:
"Happy Daddy Day!" She has said this every single day since Father's Day!

"Here mommy for you!" She says this as soon as she doesn't want something anymore. Sometimes it is her sippy cup and other times it is an empty snack bag.

"Animals where are you?" (Many other words replace animals depending on what she is looking for!) This has been a favorite since the beginning of summer!

"Creamies, stickies" when you go to change her diaper. The "stickies" is actually vasoline!

"Mommy's (or daddy's or Aunt Laura or etc.) here!"

Daddy - "What did you dream about Madeline?"
Maddie - "Baby Animals, Elmo and Katie." Those things are always definite and sometimes some other things come out as well!

Madeline loves to point things out that she sees at the grocery store and still loves going for walks and looking for hop hops, dogs, cats and babies.

Her eating is slowing down. I would still consider her a good eater, but she is much less consistent. You never know when she will actually eat a good meal! What she may love one day may not be touched the next day. But, one thing is for sure...she loves "grandpa's watermelon!" (When is it sliced into triangles, it is "grandpa's watermelon" as that is how he cuts it for her!)

Most of her teeth are in, but some are still working their way up through the gums.

She makes us laugh all of the time and we love her so much!
