Right after we were told, "It's a girl!"

Madeline Grace (who went without a name for a day) blessed us with her presence at 12:34 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9th. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 21 1/2" - the perfect size! Words can't express our joy!

Won't Be Too Much Longer!

Had contractions starting late last night, which made it a bit hard to sleep. I got up and got ready for work and Matt talked some sense into me. We started timing them and they were 5 min. apart. I called the doctor and since they were so frequent, she wanted me to come in. They hooked me up to the monitor and found that the contractions were 4 min. apart at that point, but pretty weak. So right now, I am back at home just waiting it out! They told us to go to the hospital when the pain is too much to bear. My contractions are getting stronger, but less frequent. It's a waiting game right now!

Update!!!

Well this week hasn't exactly gone as planned! I came down with a lovely cold and it kept me home from work today. I have gone through tons of Kleenex - oh so fun.

Here is the latest from today's appointment:

• My measurements were off, so they needed to do an ultrasound
• (I can't remember the heartbeat this time around)
• I am not yet dilated and 50% effaced
• The baby (once again) kept putting hands in and out of the mouth, making it impossible to get a picture. I was told to get the pacifiers clean and ready!
• The baby is measuring in the 25th percentile. I was really surprised by this! Right now it weighs around 6 lbs. 14 oz.
• If the baby doesn't come before the 14th, I will go in Sunday night and start the induction process. If we go this route, the baby should arrive on the 15th.
• Matt now thinks it's a girl because it's little. I still have no clue!

Nope - not a turkey under my shirt. Just my very pregnant 38 week+ prego belly!

The latest...

With the due date just around the corner, I have been going to my doc each week. We had an appointment yesterday and this is what we found out:

• Heartbeat was 139 beats per min.
• I am not dialated at all yet
• The cervix is getting softer
• The baby has dropped

In my ideal world, this is what next week will look like! :)

• Monday - hair appt. YEAH! That's a definite!
• Tuesday - mani and pedi
• Wednesday - eyebrows
• Thursday - my next dr. appt. (check for an update!)
• Friday - I can finish up my work day and go into labor that night! If it were only that easy!!!

Chicago Shower

It was another great shower in Chicago! Thanks ma, Laura and Jill! My grandma and grandpa surprised me and came in for the weekend. It sure was great to see them! I got a lot of great things and had a blast putting everything away. We feel blessed to have such great family and friends!!!

Addison is 1 year old today! How fast time goes!

Update!!!

We started our prepared childbirth classes last night. It was interesting to see all the couples and how far along everyone is. Most are 28-33 weeks. My favorite part had to be the relaxation techniques. It was like getting a massage from Matt for the last 30 min. of class- very nice! :) Not too into the crazy hee hee hoo breaths, but you never know what will help when that time comes! Baby is moving like crazy and my belly is moving a lot!

What a wonderful time we had in Kokomo. It was so nice seeing everyone and we got so many nice things! Thanks to Darlene, Kristin and Margit for giving us such a nice shower!

The Latest...

I went in for a regular checkup on Tuesday, 9/30. The heartbeat was 160 and all was good. The only slight concern was that I was measuring 28 weeks instead of 30. So, they did an ultrasound. I haven't had one since 19 1/2 weeks, so it was really neat getting to see the baby again! Funny thing is that baby is actually measuring big (about a week ahead of the due date)! She explained that baby is in the 70th percentile for length and weight at this point. She said to expect an 8 - 81/2 lb. baby! Baby has hair on its head and has rather big feet (according to the ultrasound tech). Baby was very active and loves putting its hands all over its face. Between the placenta and the hands blocking the face, we were unable to get a picture. Oh well!
